Vermont DHIA

Vermont Dairy Herd Improvement Association (Vermont DHIA) is a non-profit, member-directed organization that was started as a collaborative effort between the University of Vermont (UVM) Extension Service and interested local dairy producers around 1909. We are governed by a board of directors, elected directly from our membership, representing each of nine regions within our service area. Today, we have 37 field technicians who serve over 550 members representing more than 65,000 cows throughout New England and central/eastern New York.

Our main office and lab are located in White River Junction, VT near the central US Post Office for the state, ensuring fast turn-around for samples sent from both inside the state (usually next-day) and outside the state (2-3 days). In fact, we are proud to say that we have one of the lowest turn-around times among all DRMS service affiliates in the country! Our experienced lab staff offers multiple testing options to both members and non-members with fast, accurate results.

Vermont DHIA is proud to be a member of National DHIA. Our field services, meter lab, and milk lab are certified annually by Quality Certification Services, an subsidy of National DHIA, ensuring we provide accurate results and quality herd management records.
